George H. Goulart, 78, a resident of Rio Communities and formerly White Plains, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 18.
George was born Jan. 10, 1933, in Manhatten, N.Y., to George and Emma Koenig Goulart. He spent 23 years on the White Plains Police Force, and is a veteran of the Korean War, where he served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a former stock car racer, bronco rider and was a member of the White Plains Moose Lodge No. 294. George enjoyed golf, bowling and billiards and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
George is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jeanette de la Ferre Goulart; sons, Steven Goulart and his wife, Lisa, of New York, and George Goulart and his wife, Lori Ann, of New York; daughter, Deborah and her husband, David Puddu, of New Mexico; grandchildren, Carly and Olivia of New York, Lana, Sophia and Noah of New Mexico, and many local and New York area friends who dearly loved him.
George was preceded in death by his father, George; mother, Emma Koenig; and sisters, Phyllis and Mary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests friends and family make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, in the chapel of Noblin Funeral Services in Belen.
